Root Canal (Endodontics)
Root canals are required on most teeth that have constant, spontaneous, or un-stimulated pain. Root canals are routine treatment in my practice We can see patients who are in pain promptly to reduce or eliminate their pain. We perform root canals on all teeth and are well practiced and equipped with the latest instrument design and techniques. We use engine driven rotary titanium files to expertly remove nerve tissue and properly shape the canals. I prefer to do root canals in two appointments as I believe the best results are attained using this technique. After a root canal is done a crown should be placed on all molar teeth and most bicuspid teeth. Many front teeth do not require crowns after root canals.
Why do I need a root canal? There are a number of reasons why one of your teeth may need a root canal. These include but are not limited to, a very deep cavity that extends into the nerve, a trauma to the tooth that exposes the nerve, or a crack in the tooth that extends into the nerve of the tooth.
