Endodontics, more commonly known as root canal, is a procedure where the nerves of the tooth are removed. This is often due to the fact that the nerve is infected and the tooth is painful.
Rotary Endodontics is the new way of performing the root canal, utilizing a very slow speed electric hand piece. This technique often makes the process better and faster and allows the dentist to perform the process with greater accuracy and higher quality results.
After the nerves are removed and the nerve canals are thoroughly cleaned they are filled with a material called gutta percha, and a dental paste cement. Proper completion of a root canal nearly always requires two appointments.
